The first Loggerhead sea turtle nest on Daufuskie Island for the 2012 nesting
season was laid May 5th. "Lights Out - Dusk To Dawn - May 1 Thru October 31"
The commercial shrimp season in state waters officially began May 7th. There is
the potential for a faulty or illegal TED (turtle excluder device) that will
drown a sea turtle if caught in the net, especially the larger turtles. Please
report any Strandings (dead or injured sea turtles) to Holley Miles 843 540-7328

or Tammy Helmuth 843 247-5941.
No unauthorized vehicles are allowed on Beaufort County beaches.
