The Equestrian Center is also open for horserides on the beach or just to stable your horse. Call Nicole at 843-341-2894. Don't forget that the annual meeting of the Melrose Property Owners will be held on March 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the Sportsman Lodge, Melrose. R.S.V.P for this really fun weekend event. Five new homeowners have purchased recently in the Melrose Plantation neighborhood on Daufuskie Island. Welcome to all these families. Eight lots have also sold to future homeowners. This is great to see the realestate selling and everything moving forward on Daufuskie Island. Valentine's Day is Always Fun on Daufuskie Island

I remember many Valentine's Days or evenings I should say at Marshside Mama's on Daufuskie Island. It really is a very fun place to be, even in February. We have had very warm weather in the south for January and February consider booking your Valentine's Day Dinner or just a weekendend getaway this month to Daufuskie Island. Don't forget to vote! The DI Council will hold its yearly election on February 11, 2012 at the Mary Field School starting at 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. The following candidates are on the ballot: John Coulter, David Helmuth, Chuck Hunter, Kaaren Montgomery, Terri Painter, John Schartner, Jodi Smith, Catherine Tillman. f you are unable to attend the day of the vote, proxy ballots can be submitted to Mr. Chris Hutton at P.O. Box 51,Daufuskie Island S.C. 29915. For ballot copies go to www.daufuskieislandcouncil.com. Ballots must be received by 3:00 PM on February 11. All proxies must be submitted with a copy of a a verification document. Valid verificat
